  43. Description of the Package:

  45. PageFocus is a Windows application for creating drawing, form, document,
  46. and database.
  47.  
  48. The package contains two programs:
  49.         PFOCUS.EXE      This is named PageFocus.  Use this for creating and
  50.                         designing drawings, forms, documents, catalogs, etc.
  51.  
  52.         EX.EXE          This is the run-time program, used for entering data
  53.                         into forms/documents created by PFOCUS.EXE, or
  54.                         used as a viewer for viewing files created by PFOCUS.EXE.
  55.                         The entered data can be saved to create your own
  56.                         database.  With properly designed forms, data in
  57.                         the databases can be retreived into different forms.

  59.         To find a summary of the features of PageFocus, use EX.EXE to open
  60.         USEGUIDE.PF file and review the pages.

  63. Release Notes and New Features

  65. A. Starting from shareware version 3.3, we have included the spelling
  66.    check commands in the shareware version.
  67.  
  68.     New features (relative to version 3.2):
  69.     1.   Checkbox, radio button and group box for creating forms.
  70.     2.   Added paper sizes to include the metric sizes.
  71.     3.   Date and time selection to be inserted to text (in Text menu).
  72.     4.   Attach PageFocus file when print or fax.
  73.     5.   Pre-select database, print data only (see Option command in EX's
  74.          file menu)
  75.     6.   More import/export record option in EX.

  81. B. Difference between the shareware version and the registered version:
  82.    The registered version has the following additional features:
  83.    Enhanced import/export capability:
  84.         The import/export capability for the shareware version is
  85.         restricted to BMP, PCX and PageFocus files.
  86.         The registered version adds addtional formats including:
  87.         GEM, GIF, JPEG, EPS, TGA, TIFF, and WMF file formats.
  88.    TWIN support:
  89.         The registered version has TWIN support for you to scan image
  90.         directly (assuming that you have proper hardware setup.)

  92.    The shareware has a 30-day evaluation restriction.

  94. C. The help file provides all the information you need to run the program.
  95.    Two PageFocus file, USEGUIDE.PF and TIPS.PF, also contains useful information.

  97. D. Minimum system requirements:
  98.         386 PC or up.  VGA, Must have a mouse.
  99.         (33Mz 486 and up + Super VGA and up preferred)
  100.         Windows 3.1 or up.

  102.         Disk-space occupied after installation:
  103.         Shareware ~2.5 M Bytes
  104.         Registered Version ~3.5 M Bytes

  106.    The button bars described in PageFocus help file is based on a super-VGA
  107.    screen mode.  If your monitor is running on VGA mode, the button bar will be
  108.    slightly different from those described in the help files.
  109.    However, this will not affect the use of PageFocus because all the
  110.    button commands are available from PageFocus menus.  Just that if you
  111.    have super-VGA or better, the button command layout will be much better.

  114. Rules of Use

  116. A. Copyright
  117.    PageFocus is a copyrighted software.  This release version is a shareware,
  118.    not a freeware.

  120. B. Evaluation period
  121.    The evaluation period is 30 days after your installation.
  122.    If you do not register after the evaluation period,
  123.    please remove all the files related to PageFocus from your computer.
  124.    Any use of the package after you have installed
  125.    it for 30 days is a violation of this use agreement.

  127. How to Register
  128. ==========================================================================
  129.    If you decide to keep PageFocus, you must register with Creative Stars, Inc..
  130.  
  131.    The registration fee is
  132.    $29.00 per copy plus $5 shipping/handling fee for US and Canada.
  133.    ( for other countries, the shipping/handling charge is $10 ).

  135.    Upon registration, we will ship you the registered version of
  136.    PageFocus which extended import/export of most graphic file formats,
  137.    TWIN support, and bitmap editing capabilities.
  138.  
  139.    Since the help files of PageFocus contains all the information
  140.    you need to run the programs, no printed documentation is provided.

  142.    You can register by:
  143.    1.   Phone   206-485-1737 (Weekdays 8am to 5pm, Pacific Standard Time in US)
  144.         We will need your credit card information, phone number and address.

  146.    2.   Fax     206-487-0980 (Any time)
  147.         You can select the "Register" command in the Help menu of
  148.         PageFocus (PFOCUS.EXE) or EX ( EX.EXE ), this command will open
  149.         ORDER.PF automatically.  Enter the needed information, then fax
  150.         it to us (if you have fax function properly set up on PageFocus, you
  151.         can use the fax command from the File menu).

  153.    3.   Mail
  154.         Follow step 2 to fill out the ORDER form.  Mail the order form by
  155.         including a check, money order, or provide your credit card information.
  156.         Our address is at the top of this file.  Please do not send cash.

  158.    We accept Visa and Master cards, company and personal checks.

  161. Install/Uninstall
  162. ==========================================================================
  163. After unzipping the PFOCUS zip file, install PageFocus by running the
  164. install program (INSTALL.EXE). PageFocus package relies on files created
  165. by itself for initialization and therefore, does not modify your win.ini
  166. file or other files (such as config.sys or autoexec.bat files).

  168. Uninstall is easy!
  169. If you want to remove (uninstall) PageFocus, simply remove the PageFocus directory
  170. and the two initialization files, PFOCUS.INI and EX.INI in your Windows
  171. directory.

  174. If you follow the use rules of this shareware, then you can ignore the
  175. following notes.........................................................
  176. Notes:  If you still have a previous shareware version of PageFocus in
  177.         your computer, you must remove all the old files and directories
  178.         before installing this new shareware version.  Otherwise,
  179.         you may not be able to use the new version.

  182.         directly by the registered version.
